Android Tactical Assault Kit (ATAK) for smartphone geospatial infrastructure

The report is already on the radio. It just never reaches the map.

Every contact report, SITREP and grid reference gets spoken once, then typed again manually into the TAK platform.

FlexSR listens to the radio audio on the device, spots the words that carry the information, and hands
ATAK a Cursor on Target event.

Why the radio is the hardest audio in the building

Process

Audio capture

An RTL-SDR receiver or a DigiRig cable off the radio's audio out. No change to the radio or the net.

01

Spotting

FlexSR runs on the same device, a Raspberry Pi upwards, and flags lexicon terms as they are spoken.

02

Event assembly

Spotted terms are mapped into a Cursor on Target 2.0 event: type, callsign, position, time, remarks.

03

Delivery

04

The event is multicast to the TAK mesh on the standard address. WinTAK and ATAK-CIV treat it as any other CoT.
